Fast-track into Sailing
The Weta trimaran concept was developed by New Zealanders' Roger and Chris Kitchen, born out of their involvement in Youth sailing and a desire to make the sport more attractive and accessible. It should therefore not come as a surprise that their creation is exceptionally well suited to enabling newcomers to the sport to gain rapid satisfaction. There are few other performance boats in which one can learn from scratch to helm with confidence in as little as a day!
Key features which enable this:
Stability - allows you more time to focus on steering, wind and sails and is forgiving of mistakes. You can spend more time in the boat learning to sail than in the water trying to get back in.
Control - the Weta's 3 sails are arranged to make it easy to add or reduce power according to wind conditions and experience. A small main sail option is also available to provide confidence to lighter sailors in stronger winds. The helm is well balanced, easy and responsive, whilst the three hull combination is an exceptionally nimble one.
Simplicity - the Weta's has been designed to be quick to rig and intuitive to use. The transparent main and jib and the lack of a boom also help to reduce complexity and build confidence.
